Hello Olympic College Community!
Your library faculty and staff are hoping that this blog post finds you well into your Spring 2008 Quarter workload. Be it grading, researching, or studying for an exam; we’re here for you!
With that said, if you didn’t come in and view the photography display in the library, you missed out big time! We had photos of all sorts of things, from Obama’s rally in Seattle a few months back, to time pieces, and just about everything inbetween. We truly have a talented community of students at Olympic College!
Also, if you didn’t know, April is National Poetry Month. Even the Seattle Times has a piece on the phenomenon! As usual, you can swing by the 2nd floor of the library to check out our book display for some great poetry to read on a cold and rainy day like today. The Library of Congress also has a great subject directory of poets to browse through and find poetry as well as biographies on the poets themselves! From Paul Laurence Dunbar’s “We Wear the Mask” to the ninth librarian of the Library of Congress, Archibald MacLeish, they offer a great resource for learning more about some fantastic poets.
Next month, we’ll celebrate Asian/Pacific American Heritage Month. Then, before you know it, the spring quarter will be over!
Don’t hesitate to swing by the library for assistance with your research needs this quarter! We’re here to help! Have a great quarter!!!
