Mid-Quarter Report, Black History Month, and Beyond!

Hello Students, Faculty, and Staff! :-)

We are pleased to greet you with another blog entry for the Winter 2008 Quarter. Our apologies for such a lag inbetween this entry and the last/first one of the quarter, but you know how life goes! :-D

In any event, if you don’t know already; February is Black History Month! If you haven’t already, please take a moment or two to peruse the wonderful assortment of books that we have displayed on the 2nd floor of the library, near the elevator.black history monthII From W.E.B. DuBois, to the Williams sisters, we have texts on a little bit of everybody! Whether it’s for a research project or your own personal enjoyment, be sure to check out the book display every month when you visit us for new and interesting books!

Speaking of the 2nd floor, be prepared for yet another visual piece of eye candy as we begin to set up photos for the yearly photography exhibit in the library. This year, the exhibit will run from March 3rd to April 18th, so get your checkbooks out and get ready to make an offer if you see a photograph that you like! :-) Like we’ve mentioned in previous entries, every year, the winning photograph is donated to the library for display purposes. Look around you, we have them displayed all over the library (mainly downstairs near the computers)!

Before we go; don’t forget to check out our new books displays! new booksI We’re continually inputting more and more books into our system so that you can enjoy them and check them out. So, please do! :-)

That about does it for us. We know it’s getting to that point in the quarter where it’s truly “crunchtime” research wise for our students. Our words of advice; get to the library as soon as you can to begin your research. Don’t wait until the day before an assignment is due to start. As soon as you have the basic information available on your assignment, get started so you can iron out the kinks way before they become a major problem/stressor. We’re here to help, so let us do our job by assisting you with finding credible resources!

Good luck with the remainder of your quarter and don’t be afraid to see us at the Information Desk!
